Quote of the Month

“O God, grant that whatever good things I have, I may share generously with those who have not, and whatever good things I do not have, I may request humbly from those who do.” — St. Thomas Aquinas

President’s Corner

Dear Cabell and Susie,
I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
At this time of year New Eve and I are thankful for so many things. I don’t think we ever realize how much we are thankful for, so any list like the following is always incomplete, but here goes, and may God correct the omissions:
  • Our loving, merciful, and generous God who blesses and protects New Eve every day and gives us the opportunity to shelter His mothers and children;
  • Our full houses of seven mothers, nine children, and three unborn children;
  • The 46 babies born into our homes;

  • YOU, our supporter, for your prayers and gifts and encouragement
  • Our heroic volunteers, mentors, and House Directors Christina Muller and Dianne Barkey and their tears, toil, and sweat.  It’s not always a day at the beach for them, but God sustains them.  Christina calls their work “a loving Christian witness.”
  • Our many success stories, no matter how small
  • The Churches who partner with us: New Life Church, Victory Church, Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Bridget of Ireland Catholic Church, and Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church
  • The youth volunteers at Trail Life, American Heritage Girls, and New Life Church
  • My Brother Knights of Columbus in Berryville and Winchester
  • The Baby Bottle Campaigns by the Knights and others which have brought us over a quarter of a million dollars through the years and for the mother of these campaigns, my wife Susan;
  • Another successful and fun Trivia Night fundraiser and Sue Fisher the mother of these events;
  • Vince Criste and Sheila Betit who work behind the scenes to send our e-newsletters and enter data;
  • The United Way Day of Caring team from Green Bay Packaging led by Deacon Rich Vossler and Fred Riley;
  • The gift of knowing that you and we are protecting God’s gift of life and changing lives for the better;
  • The realization that our mothers and children are thankful to God and us, and, if not now, then some day.
Pro-Life is our stance.  Pro-LOVE is our action.
God bless you,

Cabell
